Molotov Cocktail Attack in Pattaya Leaves Teenager with Serious Burns

Pattaya —

Rivals launched a Molotov cocktail attack on a 16-year-old teen in Pattaya in the small hours of Sunday, leaving him with serious burns.

Nongprue police and emergency responders were notified of the brutal attack on September 3rd at 1:30 AM, at Soi Khao Noi, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. They rushed to the scene to aid the victim.

There, they found a 16-year-old boy (name withheld due to his age) with severe burns on his arms and legs. He was hospitalized at a local hospital.

The police also found a scorched motorbike belonging to the boy fallen on the road.

In an interview with the boy’s peers, they stated that they and the boy were joyriding in a group when they encountered their rivals on the road by accident. The enemies then began chasing the boy down and threw a Molotov cocktail at him, forcing him to leave his burning motorbike to flee for his life into the woods.

The friends said that they had a previous fistfight with the perpetrators but did not disclose the nature of the dispute or conflict. Nongprue police are working on identifying the suspects at the time of reporting.

The Pattaya News notes that this incident comes only days after Pattaya law enforcement began enforcing a new rule that bans minors under the age of 18 to loiter in public areas at late night without their parents or guardian.
