Sri Racha —

A Thai man was found dead on a sofa in the Baan Eua-arthorn housing estate in Sri Racha on Friday morning, September 1st.

A resident of the Baan Eua-arthorn apartment, Mr. Witthaya Dhammapreechakorn, 56, was shocked to find his dead neighbor after tracing a noxious stench up his building yesterday morning.

Witthaya arrived at his apartment complex, located in the Sri Racha District, Chonburi Province, on Friday when he was struck by a foul odor emanating from the premises. He decided to call the apartment’s caretaker, and together they began searching for the source of the smell, which led them to a room where the body was found on a sofa.

According to Sri Racha police, the deceased was believed to have been dead for at at least 3-4 days. The body did not bear any signs of injuries or foul play, police said.

Witthaya stated to local media that he never interacted with the deceased man when he was still alive and that the man kept to himself, so he did not know if the man had any health conditions. The last time he spotted the deceased leaving his room was around 2-3 days ago, Witthaya said.

The body was sent to Laem Chabang Hospital for an identification process. The name of the deceased was withheld pending final notification to his family.
