Grab Taxi Cars are Now Allowed at Phuket Airport

Phuket –

‘Grab’ taxi cars are now allowed as the first application taxi service to service the Phuket International Airport starting from today (September 1st).

On Friday (Sept 1st) at the Phuket International Airport a press conference was led by the Director of the Airports of Thailand (AOT) Dr. Keerati Kitmanawat and the Phuket International Airport Director Mr. Monchai Tanod who launched the campaign in which ‘Grab’ taxi cars are now allowed to service the airport.

Dr. Keerati told the Phuket Express “Today is the first day that the AOT allows ‘Grab’ application taxi cars to enter the airport. The aim is to provide good service for passengers at the airport and provide them with more choices to call taxi services. Application taxi services are now popular among both Thais and foreigners.”

“Before we didn’t allow any application taxi car to enter the airport. Passengers had to walk to the outside of the airport which was about 500 meters away to get in application taxi cars that they called,” Dr. Keerati explained.

“First, we will allow Grab taxis to enter the airport. However, every Grab taxi driver who wants to enter the airport has to register with the airport first for customer convenience and safety. In the future other application taxis will be welcome to enter also.”
