Dine-and-Dash Customers Strike Pattaya Restaurant, Second Incident This Week

Pattaya —

Two dine-and-dash customers, reportedly a British man and a Ukrainian man, allegedly left a restaurant in Pattaya without paying their bill on Wednesday, August 30th. The restaurant has already filed a report to the Pattaya Police.

A video of the incident can be seen here.

The bill amounted to 854 baht, according to the restaurant employee who gave an interview to The Pattaya News after the incident.

Asking not to be named, the female worker said that a pair of foreigners entered the Robin Hood restaurant at the Avenue on Second Road yesterday and ordered some food. However, after it was time to pay their bill, one of them, a man wearing an orange shirt, engaged the staff in conversation.

Taking advantage of this distraction, the other man wearing a black shirt then swiftly grabbed the bill and stuffed it inside his left pocket. The two then ordered the staff to pack up their takeaway. Afterwards, they acted as if nothing had happened and just strolled out of the premises together.

The employee stated that her restaurant had already filed a report to the Pattaya Police. She emphasized that the man in the black shirt was a regular customer who often dined at the restaurant. She never expected that he would do something like this. They are British and Ukrainian nationals, the employee said.

Police are reportedly looking into the incident. This is the second dine and dash incident this week in Pattaya, the other involving a Thai national at a small Thai restaurant who may be a serial scammer, as we reported here.
