Chonburi —
Four Thai men were arrested Friday morning, August 25th, for collaboratively stealing road construction equipment and materials worth thousands of baht.
The incident took place on August 18th when three steel-reinforced concrete formworks went missing from a roadwork site in the Takhian Tia area of Banglamung district, Chonburi. The tools belonged to the Laem Chabang Civil Engineering Company Limited.
The company subsequently filed a report to the police, which led to the arrest of four men believed to have stolen the items. The suspects were identified only as Mr. Thanongsak, 25, Mr. Seksan, 40, Mr. Natthaphon, 26, and Mr. Witoon, 30. They were arrested with undeniable evidence, including the stolen road formworks and their getaway pickup truck and motorbike.
The suspects admitted that they went to steal the items from the vicinity of a local mosque. They intended to sell the stolen items and share the proceeds among themselves. However, they were apprehended by law enforcement officers before they could execute their plan.
Police charged the suspects for conspiring to commit theft by using a vehicle during nighttime. The stolen items would be returned to the company, police stated.
