A 65-year-old man suffered injuries after he crashed his car into a power pole in the Phanat Nikhom district by accident on Friday morning, August 25th.
The accident took place on a road from the Koh Pho to Phanat Nikhom area in Chonburi province.
Upon arrival, the rescue team found a Thai man, identified as Mr. Wichai Chalong, 65, trapped in the wreck of his black Toyota Vigo pickup truck that had jammed into a utility pole by the side of the road.
The rescue team freed the man from his car, using heavy cutting equipment, and found that he had suffered lacerations under the jaw, neck pain, back bruises, and chest tightness. Basic first aid was administered to him before he was sent to the Phanat Nikhom Hospital.
Local media interviewed a witness to the accident, Mr. Somkiat Teerun. He said that he only found the victim trapped in his car after the accident and was unaware of what had caused it.
Police collected CCTV recordings of the scene as evidence. They said they would summon the victim for an interview once he made a recovery.
