The rescuers found a bronze Honda CR-V sedan with significant damage to its bumper and a black Nissan Almera sedan parked on the road. The first vehicle belonged to a retired college teacher identified as 71-year-old Mr. Charoenwit Sompongtham and his passenger, 44-year-old Ms. Sirikorn Sittiporn. Mr. Charoenwit suffered non-serious head wounds and bruises while Ms. Sirikorn was uninjured.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan Almera sedan, identified as 46-year-old Mrs. Pitchanaree Wakeling, suffered injuries to her cheeks and minor contusions.

Mr. Charoenwit told The Pattaya News that he was driving home when he was suddenly crashed into by the other vehicle at the intersection. The impact caused both vehicles to spin. Mr. Charoenwit added he was totally caught off guard by the other car, so he could not brake.

All injured parties were taken to Banglamung Hospital. Police would later question Mrs. Pitchanaree to hear her side of the story and make any potential decisions around liability in the accident.
