Chonburi —

A Lineman food delivery rider fatally rear-ended an 18-wheeler on Motorway Route 7 inbound to Chonburi. Speed was believed to be the cause of the accident, according to police.

The tragedy occurred near the kilometer marker 113+900 in the Nong Pla Lai sub-district of Banglamung district yesterday afternoon, August 9th. The police, accompanied by a charity rescue center, went to the scene to rescue the victim.

Upon arrival, they found a white Honda Wave 125i motorcycle had jammed into the back of a truck. The front portion of the motorcycle was severely damaged. Additionally, a deceased individual was discovered wearing a Lineman’s uniform, but no evidence indicating their identity was found.

The victim died on their motorbike, suffering severe head injuries. The police questioned an involved truck driver, Mr. Winai Klahann, 35, about the incident.

Winai stated that he was delivering garbage from Pattaya to a power plant in Sa Kaeo. He was driving in the left lane when, suddenly, the victim crahsed into him from behind.

Preliminary investigations by the police suggested that the delivery man might have been driving at a high speed, likely exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, as indicated by the odometer reading on his vehicle. His body was sent to Banglamung Hospital for further funeral arrangements.
