Pattaya Police Arrest Thai Man in Possession of Homemade Guns

A 41-year-old man was arrested in Pattaya early yesterday morning, August 3rd, for his illegal possession of 20 bullets and homemade pistols.

Acting on a tip-off from concerned citizens, Pattaya police arrested a Thai man, Mr. Ek Lekbang, at a construction camp on Soi Thep Prasit 17 at 1:06 AM on August 3rd.

The police confiscated from him two homemade .38 pistols and 20 rounds of ammunition. The items were concealed in the storage compartment of the suspect’s pickup truck that he used for carrying construction equipment.

In Mr. Ek’s confession, he stated that he had purchased the weapons at prices of 25,000 baht for the guns and 2,500 baht for the bullets from acquaintances. He claimed that his intention was solely to safeguard his property and not to cause harm to anyone.

Despite this, the police took Mr. Ek in custody and charged him for illegal possession of firearms. The man is undergoing legal proceedings.
