In a harrowing incident, a 25-year-old woman named Ms. K, found herself at the receiving end of a gunshot, allegedly fired by her husband.
The incident unfolded in a rented room near the Nongprue Fresh Market in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
The police received a report of a gunshot and rushed to the scene to find the victim, Ms. K lying on a bed, wounded and surrounded by a pool of blood.
The victim was reported to have been shot in the shoulder by her Thai husband, who escaped before the police arrived. Fortunately, the woman survived the severe wound and was recovering at a local hospital.
Following the shooting, law enforcement officers from the Nongprue police station were relentless in their pursuit of justice. Their efforts eventuated in the apprehension of the alleged perpetrator, identified as Mr. Chanwit Palaphon, the victim’s 26-year-old Thai husband. He was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder. Chanwit confessed to the allegations claiming he shot his wife in a fit of anger during a heated argument.
Further investigation revealed that Chanwit was once arrested for drug charges and carrying weapons into the public. He is now back into police custody waiting for legal proceedings.
