Chonburi Police Launch Operation Against Illegal Migrant Workers

Chonburi —

Police officers from the Banglamung police station on Wednesday, August 8th, conducted an operation against migrant workers illegally working on Thai soil without permission.

Law enforcement officers led by Pol Lt Col Jakkrit Chantakam inspected several areas within Banglamung district yesterday, with a primary goal to prevent non-Thai individuals from engaging in illegal activities within the jurisdiction of the Banglamung police station

Some of the targeted places were local temples, including Wat Prachum Kongka, Wat Nong Khet Noi, Wat Santhikam, and Wat Sawangfa.

While the temples cooperated fully with the police, the results of the operation did not reveal any instances of foreigners engaging in unlawful activities, Pol Lt Col Jakkrit stated.

At the end of the operation, the police emphasized to Thai employers not to hire unauthorized foreign workers. Should any of them wish to work, they must undergo proper verification processes to obtain a work permit before engaging in work activities.
