The body of a missing Senegalese tourist has washed ashore in the Karon sub-district of Phuket today after he went missing in the rough sea on July 28th.

The body of a missing Senegalese man, Mr. Cheikhonuna Be, 22, was found on Freedom Beach near the location where he was reported missing on Friday.
Be went missing in rough waters at Freedom Beach in the Karon sub-district of Phuket’s Mueng district after going swimming with his three friends. The latter were rescued and survived.
Rescue personnel from the Sea Rescue Center along with 10 lifeguards conducted a search and rescue operation immediately after being alerted to the incident.
The Naval Security Operations Center Region 3 dispatched a specialized team to assist in the rescue mission. However, they faced challenges in locating the missing tourist due to the rough sea conditions. Eventually, the body of the tourist was found washed ashore on Freedom Beach at 6:50 AM today, July 30th, 2023.
The deceased was confirmed to be the missing Senegalese man, according to Vachira Phuket Hospital. The authorities warned against swimming in the currently rough sea.
