Banglamung Police Seize Multiple Firearms from Two Thai Men

The Banglamung police confiscated a large cache of firearms from two Thai men in Chonburi. The two suspects were charged for illegal possession of armory.

The two separate arrests took place on Saturday, July 15th, following the order of Thailand’s national police chief to intercept crimes within Chonburi province.

The first arrest took place when Banglamung police officers, armed with a search warrant from the Pattaya court, raided a house within the Takhian Tia sub-district of Banglamung district, after receiving a tip off from concerned residents that the homeowner had been hoarding firearms within the premises.

During the search, police officers uncovered a collection of handguns inside a wardrobe. The weapons were found to be legally acquired, but some of them were unregistered, with their serial numbers having been scraped off.

The police also seized magazines, pistol holsters, and over 100 rounds of various ammunition from the suspect, Mr. Apisit (last name withheld), 31 years old. The Thai man confessed to owning the weapons. He was taken to the Banglamung police station to proceed with legal action.

Subsequently, the same group of police officers arrested another Thai man, Mr. Sawai (last name withheld), 61-years-old, along with various weaponry. He was arrested at a house in Banglamung for possessing firearms that were not registered under his name.

The Banglamung police are pursuing legal action against him.
