Sri Racha Thief Tries to Sell Stolen Item Online and Ends Up in Handcuffs

A daring thief in Sri Racha attempted to sell a coffee grinder that he had stolen from a coffee shop and was subsequently arrested.

The thief was identified by relevant police as Mr. Ruengrit Chinpracha, 22, and was apprehended at the front of his house in the Sri Racha district, Chonburi province, along with a total of 22 confiscated items, roughly including clothing used in the commission of the crime, lockpicking tools, a Honda Click motorcycle, mobile phones, and coffee-making equipment.

The arrest was made yesterday, July 13th, following a police report from the victim, Ms. Pimchanok Bangpub, a 25-year-old owner of a coffee shop located in Banglamung district.

According to her, Mr. Ruengrit crept into her shop and took off with over 100,000 baht worth of coffee-making items. He was clearly captured on a CCTV camera as he committed the act.

Following Mr. Ruengrit’s complaint, the Banglamung police started tracking down the culprit and discovered one Facebook user that was trying to sell a coffee grinder on the internet.

The law enforcement team expanded their investigation and uncovered that the aforementioned Facebook user resided at a house within the Sri Racha district. The officers then proceeded to the house and swooped in on Mr. Ruengrit.

Upon searching his residence, the police discovered the stolen coffee grinder along with other stolen items. Mr. Ruengrit also reportedly confessed to the allegation. He is currently in custody at the Banglamung Police Station.
