Pattaya City Begins Repairing Lights in Central Road Bypass Tunnel

Pattaya —

Pattaya City has started a project to repair and replace lights in the Central Road bypass tunnel, with one street lane inside the underpass closed.

The light installation began on Wednesday, July 12th, to replace and fix the old lights that have been in use since 2017.

The officials plan to replace the old light bulbs with about 550 LED light bulbs.

Between the 12th and 15th of July, relevant officials will start working on the tunnel’s inbound side of Sattahip, with the work divided into 2 shifts, starting from 9 AM to 6 PM and from 6 PM to 12 AM. One lane adjacent to the tunnel wall will be closed from traffic from 9 AM onwards.

Rubber cones and warning signs will be set up to prevent accidents.

According to the officials, in the future the city may install CCTV cameras at the spots where motorbike riders can be often seen entering the tunnel. This is to prevent motorcyclists from illegally using the underpass.

Pattaya City apologizes for the inconvenience.
