Motorcycle Collides with Rear of 18-Wheeler in Chonburi, Resulting in One Fatality

A motorcycle rear-ended an 18-wheeler in Chonburi yesterday after trying to overtake it, resulting in one fatality.

The accident occurred on the bypass road in front of the PTT gas station on the inbound side to Bangsaen within the Mueang district of Chonburi.

At the accident site, the local rescuers found the deceased body of 22-year-old Mr. Bunjerd Saenyen, lying on the left lane of the road, dressed in a blue long-sleeved shirt and brown trousers. The examination of his body revealed that Mr. Bunjerd had suffered a broken neck, fractured skull, and broken arms.

His motorbike was extracted from under the 18-wheeler found at the scene. According to 28-year-old Mr. Wuttipong Thongma, the driver of the 18-wheeler, he was delivering goods to a customer. Upon reaching the gas station, he parked the truck on the left side to use the restroom. However, when Mr. Wuttipong was just about to walk off, he heard a loud noise coming from the rear of his truck and found that a motorcycle had rear-ended him.

Mr. Wuttipong claimed he immediately notified the authorities. The deceased was transferred to a nearby hospital. The police are still investigating the accident but no charges were filed as of press time.
