Pattaya Woman Demands Someone to take Financial Responsibility after Crashing Her Sedan into Construction Site on Threpprasit Road

Pattaya —

A college student in Pattaya is demanding someone to take financial responsibility after she crashed her sedan into a road construction site on Threpprasit Road.

The victim, 20-year-old Ms. Areeya Sansuk, revealed to The Pattaya News that she crashed her sedan on Threpprasit Road around midnight on July 4th. She said she was driving a Honda City sedan and was totally unaware of the roadwork taking place in the area.

As a result, Ms. Areeya collided her vehicle with the construction site, resulting in significant damage to her car. She did not suffer injuries.

According to her, she did not notice the roadwork allegedly because there were no signs, reflective markings, or lighting during that time. The woman then filed a report at the Pattaya Police Station and was advised to file a complaint directly to Pattaya City Hall.

A day later, Pattaya City officials contacted her, informing her that they were unable to provide immediate assistance as the project in question was still ongoing and under the responsibility of the contracting company legally and not the city. They provided her with the contact information of the construction company for further communication.

However, when Ms. Areeya contacted the contracting company, she was greeted with unsatisfactory service according to her as she was allegedly told that the company would not compensate for her damage and that she would instead have to pay the firm for damaging their median.

Ms. Areeya later took her plight to the press, pleading that she wanted relevant authorities to come forward and take action.

She stated that at least the construction site should have a clear warning sign to prevent accidents. A similar accident like in her case not only results in property damage but can also cause injuries, disabilities, or even loss of life, she said.
