Chonburi Man Plows Motorbike into Street Sign and Dies

A young man lost his life in a traffic accident in Banglamung district yesterday, June 19th, after crashing his motorbike into a street sign and breaking his neck.

Banglamung Police were notified of the accident early in the morning yesterday and rushed to the scene within the Banglamung sub-district of Banglamung district, Chobnuri province, along with Sawang Boriboon rescuers.

At the scene, a lot of bystanders were trying to help the victim, 23-year-old Mr. Thawatchai Sopawong, who was lying in a pool of blood beside his black GPX 125 motorbike. The Thai man had suffered fractured arms and legs, and a broken neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Sawang Boriboon rescuers.

The deceased’s body was transferred to Banglamung Hospital for further funeral arrangements.

According to witness Mr. Natthapong Sirisopagul, who notified the authorities, he stated that the victim had lost control of his bike and crashed into a street sign on a footpath. The victim was lying lifelessly on the ground when Natthapong spotted him.

Upon reviewing CCTV footage of the accident, Pol. Lt. Col. Yutthakarn Prabpai informed local media that the victim was travelling at high speed before plowing his vehicle into the sign. His motorbike helmet was found at the scene.
