Two Youngsters Arrested in Pattaya for Stealing Motorbike

Pattaya —

Two Thai youth, aged 16 and 12-years-old, were arrested in Pattaya for stealing a motorbike from a female cashier.

Pattaya Police received the report of thievery at 3:40 AM today, June 19th. They immediately rushed to the scene of the incident in front of Wat Chai Market on South Pattaya Road, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung District, Chonburi province.

At the scene, the police found two suspects, aged 16 and 12 years old, surrounded by several good Samaritans, including the victim, identified only as Ms. Supattra, a cashier. Several people came to the aid of Ms. Supattra after the two juveniles had stolen her motorbike.

Ms. Supattra said she was at work when she received a phone call from her neighbor informing her that the two teenagers had stolen her motorbike around 3:00 AM. Concerned, she immediately rushed back to her room only to discover that her vehicle was indeed missing. She then notified the police and informed her group of friends to be on the lookout, urging them to report any sightings to the authorities.

Subsequently, 28-year-old Mr. Kritsorn Sukmon, a friend of the victim, spotted Ms. Supattra’s motorcycle being ridden by the two thieves in front of Wat Chai Market. He quickly chased after the motorcycle, apprehending the suspects with a citizen’s arrest, and notified the police.

According to the two youth, they claimed that they stole the bike only for a joyride and were planning to return it. They noticed the motorcycle parked unattended in front of Ms. Supattra’s room, so they hot-wired the bike and took it. The two also removed the vehicle’s license plate, hoping that no one would recognize it.

Pattaya Police are proceeding with legal action against the two juveniles.
