Thieves Steal 13,000 Baht from Water Vending Machine in Pattaya

Pattaya —

Two men stole 13,000 baht from a drinking water vending machine in Pattaya on June 10th.

The suspects arrived at the incident scene on a motorbike in the middle of the night, according to a CCTV recording.

The water vending machine was located in front of a local grocery store within the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The machine belonged to a Thai man, Mr. Sittichai Chualee, 54, who later filed a report at the Huay Yai Police Station.

Sittichai told The Pattaya News that the two thieves pried open his vending machine and absconded with a sum of 13,000 baht. Their swift operation took place in under two minutes before they made their gateway on their motorcycle.

Mr. Sittichai said there was usually a steady flow of people using the water machine throughout the night, so he typically left the money stored inside. He did not notice anything amiss until the following morning when he discovered that the padlock on the machine had been tampered with.

Police are tracking down the two culprits via CCTV footage.
