A 56-year-old electrician changing a spotlight lightbulb on a stadium pole at a Pattaya football field fell to his death today, June 15th, 2023.
The incident took place at 1:30 PM at an artificial football field at Chaiyaphruek Railway 2, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.
The victim, Mr. Somchit Suthinram, 56, had been working about ten meters off the ground when he accidentally fell from a spotlight pole where he was changing a lightbulb to the ground below. Sawang Boriboon Rescue Services were called and attempted to resuscitate Mr. Somchit but unfortunately Somchit succumbed to his wounds.
A witness, Mr. Wichan Dangthawin, 44, told The Pattaya News that he saw the fall and immediately called rescue services. Wichan said Somchit appeared to lose his balance and fell and that the fall was not from an electric shock. Somchit suffered a severe head wound upon hitting the ground which led to his death, said Wichan.
