Man Suffers Electric Shock While Washing His Car and Charging Car Battery in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A Thai man suffered an electric shock and blacked out while simultaneously washing his vehicle and charging his car battery in Pattaya yesterday, June 11th.

A rescue team from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received a report of a person being injured by an electric shock in Soi Sukhumvit 33, Pattaya, at 6 PM yesterday. They promptly rushed to the scene with a medical team from Banglamung Hospital.

The injured individual, Mr. Amnuay Nopchaem, was found unconscious after suffering a severe electric shock. The medical personnel performed CPR to revive him and they then transferred him to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, rescuers found a gray Toyota minivan soaked in water. They then interviewed the injured victim’s partner, Ms. Jarin Leekia, about the incident.

She said Mr. Amnuay was washing the car next to the house. Water was everywhere on the floor. Subsequently, Mr. Amnuay walked to get a battery charger from a shoebox to connect it to the car for charging. However, as soon as he plugged it in, an electric shock occurred, causing him to collapse. Immediately realizing the situation, Ms. Jarin quickly ran to unplug the charger and notified the authorities for assistance.

The victim remained under medical attention.
