Rayong —
The body of a 14-year-old boy who went missing in the Rayong sea was recovered this morning, June 5th.
The body of a child was found washed ashore at Saeng Chan Beach, near a hotel in Muang District, Rayong province at 10 AM today. The location of the incident was approximately 2 kilometers away from where the child was presumed to have drowned in Rayong sea. An on-duty doctor from the Rayong Hospital and the Sawang Phra Kuson Rescue Unit were coordinated and dispatched to the scene to examine the body.
The body was reported to have been that of a 14-year-old boy, who went missing in the sea yesterday. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue shorts. His name was withheld due to his age.
Mr. Buntham Yaka, the mayor of the Nernphra sub-district, expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased. He said upon receiving the report of the missing boy, he immediately dispatched a search team to look for the boy until late at night. However, due to strong winds and waves, the search was suspended.
In the morning, all units resumed the search and eventually found the body of the victim. The cause of the incident may be attributed to the strong winds and the changing water currents, Mr. Buntham said. He cautioned beachgoers to be careful while swimming in the sea.
