Over the Bow is the latest release by Pattaya-based rockers, Landing Lights. It was recorded locally at RST Studios and mix-mastered in London.
Landing Lights is a quintet hailing from Pattaya, Thailand. The band consists of Dirk Bovee (vocals/guitars), Will Stoker (vocals), Mario Ortiz Casado (bass/lead), Richard Burkhill (keys), and Craig Donaldson (drums).
Over the Bow is the first single from the band’s second album which will be released towards the end of 2023.

The name, Over the Bow, comes from the naval warfare practice of shooting a warning shot over the bow of an enemy ship.
Landing Lights has, however, put its own take on it.
“I wrote it in response to the past two years of hell,” said Landing Lights drummer, Craig Donaldson. “I’m looking forward to seeing the back of COVID and getting on with my life, but I can’t simply carry on as before. No longer can I be a bystander as our planet falls to pieces. COVID was a warning shot over the bow, nature’s way of saying, “It’s time to stand-up and take note, I’m talking to you.”
Whilst Over the Bow is not that literal – depicting instead characters who can’t see beyond the circles in which they exist, people who struggle to learn from their mistakes – it poses the question: “What are you going to do about it? You gonna listen now?”
The band is enjoying being able to play live again, having already performed at Bangkok venues such as Jam, Delaney’s, and Speakerbox earlier this year. Landing Lights also played at Burapa Bike Week Festival (Pattaya) 2023.
