Pattaya Mayor Reveals Plan for Covered Bali Hai Pier

Pattaya, Thailand-

The Pattaya mayor, Poramese Ngampiches, revealed concept art today, May 13, 2023, for an improved and covered Bali Hai Pier.

The improvements have been discussed for quite some time now, following regular and numerous complaints from tourists, both domestic and foreign, about the lack of shade or protection from the rain at the pier for travelers going to and from various islands around Pattaya.

The pier has had temporary shelter previously but as it was essentially just a tent near the pier entrance it was woefully inadequate for the thousands of daily visitors waiting for their various boats and ferries at the pier.

A timeline for the implementation and construction of the project was not made clear by the mayor’s office, however, here is the concept art. All images are courtesy of the Pattaya mayor.
