Chonburi —
Two trailers collided and burst into flames on a Chonburi road last night, April 8th. Luckily, however, there were no injuries or deaths.
The accident took place on a bypass to Bangkok in the Mueang district of Chonburi. Two fire engines were dispatched to extinguish a fire that was gutting two large trailers that had collided with each other.
The blaze took about half an hour to be calmed, according to local media. Nobody was injured by the incident.
Ms. A (alias), who was the girlfriend of the trailer driver, told local media that her boyfriend was headed for Nakhon Sawan province from Rayong. They were about to make a brief stop for a coffee when another trailer suddenly rammed into them. Ms. A told local media that she was very fortunate that she could bring her young child out of the truck before it caught fire.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old driver of the other trailer only identified as Mr. Panupong claimed that while he was driving, he suddenly heard an explosion coming from his truck’s engine. The explosion startled him and caused him to accidentally veer into another trailer, causing a collision followed by a fire.
Chonburi Police are examining CCTV footage and the cause of the fire.
