Bangkok-Bound Freight Train Derails in Prachuap Khiri Khan, No Injuries

A seven-car freight train traveling from Sungai Kolok to Bangkok went off the rails on Saturday morning, February 4th. Luckily, nobody was injured.

The train, No. 986, derailed about 200 meters ahead of the Bang Saphan Yai station. The derailment took place around 6:35 AM near kilometer marker 377/3 in Prachuap Khiri Khan. No injuries were reported.

Veera Boonprakong, an official at the Bang Saphan Railway Station, stated that the cause of the derailment is under investigation. Railway workers are repairing the trains and the railways to resume the operation.

The State Railway of Thailand altered services on three routes, including route No. 254 (Lang Suan-Thon Buri) using cars to carry passengers from Chumphon to Thon Buri, route No. 255 (Thon Buri-Lang Suan) using cars to transport passengers from Ban Krud to Saphan Noi, and route No. 43/40 (Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Surat Thani) using cars to transport passengers from Ban Krud to Bang Saphan Noi.
