51-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash with Garbage Truck in Sri Racha

A female motorist was killed when her motorbike collided with a garbage truck early this morning, January 23rd.

Nongkham Police were notified of the fatal accident by garbage collectors from the Chao Phraya Surasak Municipality at 1:30 AM.

The accident took place on Sukhaphiban 8 Road in the Bueng Sub-district of Sri Racha district, Chonburi.

The Sri Racha rescuers and police found the deceased victim, Mrs. Thanaployphan Srikun, with severe head wounds lying on the road. Her white Scoopy I motorbike was found nearby her body.

The 51-year-old victim was hit when she was emerging from Soi Bueng-Bowin 39, the garbage truck driver, Mr. Sukchai Arunwangdee, 58, told police. She drove in front of the truck and landed heavily on the ground after being hit.

Nongkham Police initially did not fully believe the driver’s story, so they took him to a police station for further questioning. The victim’s body was transferred to Laem Chabang Hospital for religious rites.
