Jomtien’s hidden Indian dining secret, the Kebabist

Jomtien, Thailand-

Right by the Hanuman statue leading to Jomtien Beach and across the street from the Cove on Jomtien Second Road is a brand new Indian restaurant turning heads.

This isn’t your typical Indian restaurant, however, and the owners want to make sure the public know that.

Owned by two brothers, Aryan and Kenny, with years of professional experience in Thailand and India, the two wanted to do things differently with the Kebabist.

For one, they specifically chose Jomtien for their restaurant, knowing there were fewer Indian restaurants in the area and wanting to focus on the expat community who have already proven to be regular customers and enjoy their food.

Owner Kenny told The Pattaya News that there were too many Indian restaurants in Central Pattaya, and many of them were not traditional or had professional Indian Chefs who cook right in front of you like the Kebabist. By building their restaurant in Jomtien they hoped to show potential customers from the start that they were unique.

Owner Aryan told The Pattaya News that although the venue has only been open about two months they have received a warm welcome from the local community and positive feedback on their dishes and kebabs, which are of course Indian style.

Both brothers invite tourists and local residents alike to visit the restaurant, as all are welcome, and tell them what YOU think about the newest addition to Indian food in Jomtien. A few pictures of dishes are seen below courtesy of the Kebabist Facebook. As noted the dishes are cooked at the front of the house which is part of the experience!
