Five shooters on the loose after opening fire at Pattaya pool villa and attacking renters

Pattaya —

A group of five Thai adults are being hunted by Pattaya police after they allegedly stomped into a pool villa, sprayed gunshots, and mistakenly attacked renters over a business dispute.

The pool villa is located on Jomtien Second Road in Pattaya. One man in a grey T-shirt knocked on the door of the tenants villa at around 7:10 AM today, October 18th, and asked the renters if they knew the person he was showing on his phone.

All renters shook their heads, and the man left. However, after 15 minutes the same man came back in a white Toyota Alphard with 5 men reportedly armed with firearms. They then began spraying bullets at several vehicles parked at the villa before storming into the room by force to ask the renters the same question but by gunpoint this time.

The unnamed victim revealed he and his friends genuinely did not know who the suspects were looking for, but the suspects were relentless and took one of his friends into the restroom and allegedly beat him until he shed blood all over the floor.

After getting no information, the suspects seized three ID cards from the victims and fled. The suspects did not say why they were looking for the man in the phone photos.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Kittanate Thanananthavisin, Commander-in-Chief of Chonburi Police, said one suspect has been identified as Mr. Jirarot “Rang” Wattana. He was the last suspect seen leaving the villa in a white T-shirt, according to CCTV footage.

Rang and other suspects are charged with possessing firearms without a permit, carrying weapons into public areas, trespassing, physically assaulting others, colluding to detain others, and destroying others’ properties.

As for the victims, they may have been mistaken for being involved in a conflict of interest over an illegal business, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kittanate stated.
