Chonburi—

Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Srithong has signed a directive requiring all childcare centers in Chonburi to be under strict surveillance.

The directive came after a mass shooting committed by a former Thai police officer that as of now killed 38 people, most of whom were children at a childcare center in Nong Bua Lamphu province yesterday, October 6th.

All relevant authorities, including the mayor of Pattaya, are required to increase surveillance over every childcare center in the Chonburi area, particularly the facility’s entrance and exit points to prevent a possible repeat of the unspeakable incident. The order takes effect immediately.
