A 35-year-old alleged burglar was cornered and arrested in Chonburi after he leaped from a second floor landing and sprained his ankle.
Don Hua Lo police were called to apprehend an alleged burglar at the Don Hua Lo subdistrict of Mueang district, Chonburi, yesterday, October 2nd.
The suspect was already surrounded by Good Samaritans prior to police arrival. He was a Thai person aged around 35 years old, and he refused to speak, according to police reports.
Thongchai Krongyuth, a 37-year-old eyewitness and neighbor of the victim who helped catch the suspect, revealed that he saw the suspect suspiciously riding his motorcycle back and forth around the incident area. He then called the room owner and went to check the rooms on the second floor and found the suspect rummaging through the room owner’s possessions.
The suspect reportedly gave an excus that he was looking for a water faucet, which Thongchai said made no sense to him. All of a sudden, the suspect dashed for the door and jumped off a second floor landing in order to attempt to flee, but landed badly and sprained his ankle in the process.
The suspect was detained at a police station as of press time to await further legal proceedings. He still refused to speak and law enforcement were attempting to determine his identity as of press time.
