Passenger killed, rider injured after bike rider crashes into power pole in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A rider was severely injured while his passenger was killed after their bike collided head-on with a power pole.

Sawang Boriboon rescue services responded to a fatal collision on Soi Wat Boonkanchanaram in Banglamung’s Nongprue subdistrict at 1 a.m. today, September 6th.

Rescue workers aided two Thai men namely Supot Singthuan (42) and Paitoon Sriprasit (40). Both victims suffered serious injuries after their blue GPX 200 bike crashed into a power pole beside the road.

The two victims were transported to the nearest hospital but Paitoon who was the passenger died due to his injuries. Santi Thaiyanusorn, a witness, said that he saw the two heading towards Jomtien Beach at high speed before failing to make a curve and colliding head-on with a power pole.

The deceased passenger and the surviving rider were currently at a hospital while Pattaya police said they would review CCTV cameras to find the exact cause of the accident.
