Lisa won as a solo artist with her solo album ‘LALISA’, beating other nominees like SEVENTEEN for ‘Hot’, BTS for ‘Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)’, Itzy for ‘Loco’, Stray Kids for ‘Maniac’, and TWICE for ‘The Feels’.
This is also her historic win as she becomes the first female solo artist to win the Best K-Pop category.
During her acceptance speech, Lisa thanked producer Teddy, YG Entertainment, and BLINKS (the name of the BLACKPINK Fanclub) in English before turning toward her BLACKPINK members and acknowledging and thanking them in Korean.
Apart from Lisa’s winning, BLACKPINK also won the Best Metaverse Performance for their ‘BLACKPINK X PUBG Mobile 2022 In-Game Concert: [The Virtual]’ which was the virtual concert held in-game on PUBG Mobile available worldwide last July.
