Motorcyclist crashes into power pole in Pattaya reportedly due to dim road lighting

Pattaya —

An unidentified man crashed his bike into a power pole in Pattaya and sustained serious head injuries reportedly due to dim road lighting. This followed the rider allegedly running into a woman’s sedan and fleeing.

Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue services rushed to a traffic accident scene at around 1.30 a.m. on Wednesday night on Soi Thepprasit 7.

The accident scene was at a road curve. The victim was found lying in a pool of blood beside his yellow Honda MSX bike that slammed into a power pole. Rescue workers could not provide his name since he had no ID on him, but he was a Thai person wearing red and yellow trousers and a green shirt. The victim sustained serious head injuries and passed out, so he was rushed straight to the nearest hospital.

Ae, 39, claimed that the victim had hit her sedan on Third Road and sped away, so she followed him only to find him sprawled unconsciously on the ground at the accident scene. She, however, did not witness the moment when the victim crashed his bike into a power pole.

As of press time, the unidentified victim is still in a coma. Authorities suspected that he might have failed to see the pole because of the dim road lighting. Even so, the victim would still be inquired as to if he really hit the woman’s sedan or not once he had recovered.
