Two Thai men fell into an extremely deep well after its cover, on which they were sitting and chatting, broke, killing one 47-year-old man while the other 60-year-old man miraculously survived.
Nongprue Police and Sawang Boriboon Thammasatan emergency responders rushed to a residence on Soi 1 in the Nong Pla Lai subdistrict of Banglamung today, August 20th, to rescue two men who had fallen into a well.
Ms. Daoprakai Srikaew, a 45-year-old stepdaughter who called the police, waited in panic at the edge of the extremely deep well, yelling for the officers to help her 60-year-old stepfather Mr. Suphan Boonturn who accidentally plunged into the well with his friend.
The two victims were taken out of the well, but Suphan’s friend Mr. La-ong Thephapong, 47, sadly drowned in the well and died. According to Ms. Daoprakai, her father and his friend were chatting and smoking cigarettes on a well cover when it suddenly broke and dropped both of them down to the bottom of the deep well, killing Mr. La-ong who drowned shortly after, being unable to swim and having panicked.
Mr. Suphan, on the other hand, grabbed onto a small water pipe and hung onto it yelling for help until his stepdaughter found him and contacted the police. Suphan was rushed to Banglamung Hospital after this terrifying accident, however, it appeared he was uninjured other than being shaken up emotionally.
