Allegedly intoxicated foreign driver collides with family of four on motorcycle in Pattaya

An allegedly intoxicated foreign driver of unknown nationality reportedly cut off a family of four members on a motorcycle and collided with them, causing all four including two children to suffer serious injuries.

The horrific road accident happened around 10 p.m. yesterday, August 18th, on Phatthanakan Road in the Nongprue subdistrict of Banglamung, Chonburi.

Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan emergency responders rushed to a deserted road to find a bronze Toyota Fortuner with a crumpled front and a demolished Honda Wave. The four victims were a family including parents and two young children who all sustained serious injuries and were thereby hurried to a hospital.

The car’s driver was a 56-year-old foreigner of unknown nationality. According to eyewitnesses, he allegedly cut the family off and collided with them, injuring all four members. He also seemed intoxicated and refused to provide his name, the eyewitnesses said. He refused to speak to the media.

The police officers responding to the accident later said they would have the man undertake an alcohol test at the police station and review CCTV footage to be fair for both sides.
