Four copper thieves arrested, another four escape while cutting communication wires in Sri Racha

Sri Racha —

Four serial copper thieves escaped while another four were arrested red-handed while cutting communication wires in Sri Racha.

Pol. Capt. Somporn Triphong from the Sri Racha Police Station along with other patrol police busted a gang of copper thieves yesterday, July 29th, and arrested the four suspects right on the ladders they used to reach the wires. The other four suspects on the ground, however, were able to flee and still remained at large, the officer stated.

Police impounded large piles of communication wires found in the bed of the suspects’ white Toyota pickup truck, which reportedly were National Telecommunication PLC’s property. The total damage that this gang caused was estimated at 100,000 baht, according to the officer.

This copper thief gang pretended to be state electricians working on the wires, which drew no suspicion from the passerby. Furthermore, none of the arrested had their ID with them, so their identifications were unknown, as of press time.
