Foreign man attacking bar shutter in Pattaya goes viral on Thai media, incident allegedly sparked by earlier personal conflict

Banglamung, Chonburi –

A local female bar owner reported to the police after her bar in the Nong Prue Subdistrict of Banglamung was reportedly attacked by a foreign man, causing property damage. The man was also also captured on CCTV urinating in front of the shop early Friday morning, July 22nd.

Nattathida H., 28, reportedly told Pattaya law enforcement officials that before the incident, her foreign boyfriend was reportedly physically and verbally quarreling with another foreigner.

The confrontation ended after she reportedly had to intervene to help solve the situation, according to Nattathida. It is not immediately crystal clear what caused the original conflict, who initiated it, or the source of the quarrel, and conflicting statements have been released from the multiple parties involved. As of press time, Pattaya police have been reportedly meeting with those parties and examining the statements and information.

TPN notes that counter police reports have been reportedly filed by the unidentified foreigner allegedly involved in an earlier altercation with Nattathida’s foreign boyfriend, stating that he was allegedly attacked/assaulted physically and suffered physical injuries that resulted in hospitalization.

The name of her boyfriend was not released to the Thai press by Banglamung police, citing a pending investigation.

Nattathida reportedly stated to Thai media that she believes that the foreigner involved in the dispute earlier with her boyfriend brought or encouraged a friend to vandalize the shop. The foreigner that reportedly had to go to the hospital for injuries sustained earlier may have angered and upset his friend, causing him to retaliate against the bar.

CCTV footage showed that the suspect in question was clearly kicking, vandalizing, and damaging the front rolling door of Nattathida’s bar at 2:40 AM on Friday morning until the steel broke and was damaged. The suspect was also captured showing the bar their middle finger and urinating on the building before leaving the scene.

The footage was able to clearly capture the face of the attacker. The suspect in the footage has reportedly been identified and the other individuals involved in the earlier confrontation have come forward to police with their own statements, stating that, according to them, the bar owner has allegedly misrepresented the story and not given the complete picture of earlier events and a physical assault on their person.

The names of the suspect and others involved were also not released by relevant parties involved.

The footage of the shutter attack went viral on Thai social media after being released by Thai press and had even made nationwide TV news as of this evening.
