Police inspect nightlife venues near Talay Thong seafood market in Sri Racha to prevent prostitution

Sri Racha —

Bowin police inspected nightlife venues near the Talay Thong seafood market in Sri Racha after receiving a tip-off from concerned citizens that some individuals were blatantly offering illegal sexual services.

A troop of law enforcement led by Pol. Col. Ekkapop Inthawiwat from the Bowin Police Station surveyed the Talay Thong seafood market in the Bowin subdistrict of Sri Racha on Tuesday, July 20th, following many complaints from concerned citizens about a group of individuals who allegedly offered illegal sexual services around the area.

According to reports, the area around the Talay Thong market was a residential area with hundreds of inhabitants. Each night, a pickup truck carrying a group of individuals would stop by the neighborhood and let the individuals on the street to allegedly sell illegal sexual services to passerby. The concerned citizens said that these people were seemingly operating without fear of law enforcement and were debasing their neighborhood.

However, none of the individuals were at sight at 9:35 PM yesterday when the police screened the area, according to reports. Officer Ekkapop then stressed to the nightlife venue operators, instead, to strictly forbid any kind of inappropriate actions such as selling sexual services, allowing access to minors, smoking cannabis, or carrying firearms. He also urged the customers at the venues to obey the remaining Covid-19 rules.
