Pattaya Deputy Mayor Krishna Boonsawas said on Wednesday, July 6th, that Pattaya City was ready to host Olympic Day 2022 on Pattaya Beach on September 10th.
According to the deputy mayor, the National Olympic Committee of Thailand has designated Pattaya City to host Olympic Day 2022 on Pattaya Beach on September 10th. The city is now preparing the beach areas to facilitate the sports that will be played that day. The list varies from 2.5/5 km running and walking races, beach tennis, sailing, jet-skiing, boxing, windsurfing, 3×3 basketball, etc.
Krishna also said that the event would feature an eco-friendly campaign to raise awareness about saving the environment.
“People who want to compete in a race are highly recommended to bring their own bottle of water to reduce plastic waste,” Krishna said.
He also encouraged competitors in running and walking races to occasionally pick up trash along the way to contribute to the development of a green city.
Finally, the deputy mayor hoped to see as many Pattaya residents as possible on September 10th, to welcome the athletes from across the country.
