A father and his 4-year-old daughter got trapped inside their sedan after reportedly crashing into a truck yesterday afternoon, June 26th, 2022. The father sustained severe leg injuries, according to reports.
Pol. Lt. Col. Phuwanat Phuthithuan from the Bowin Police Station received a traffic accident report mid-afternoon on Sunday, June 26th, on Laem Chabang-Map Iang Rd in the Khao Khan Song subdistrict, Sri Racha, Chonburi.
According to reports, Sri Racha rescuers were extricating the wreck of a white Toyota Fortuner sedan to free two victims including a 33-year-old father Mr. Kirin (last name withheld by law enforcement) and his 4-year-old daughter. Mr. Kirin’s legs were pressed against a car console, and his daughter was trapped in the front passenger seat.
However, the rescuers were fortunately able to free the victim’s daughter from the car wreck without severe injuries, but it took almost 30 minutes to get the father out, according to reports. The father suffered severe injuries to both legs and was taken to the Laem Chabang Hospital with his daughter.
The 38-year-old truck driver involved in the accident, Mr. Surachai Khemthong, told the Bowin officers that he was transporting sand, and there was a heavy downpour by the time of the accident. He claimed the victim’s sedan lost control and crashed into his truck despite him trying to brake, according to reports.
Initially, the Bowin officers would review CCTV footage alongside the road and question the victim once he recovered to get his side of the story.
