Sri Racha woman found dead in her bathroom with a slashed wrist, police believe she accidentally got cut by a shattered bottle

Sri Racha, Chonburi —

A 37-year-old woman was found dead in her bathroom in Sri Racha with a slit wrist. Police assumed she accidentally got cut by a shattered bottle found near her room.

On Sunday, June 5th, 2022, Nong Kham police responded to a fatality report of a woman who was found dead in her room at a three-storey building in the Nong Kham subdistrict, Sri Racha, Chonburi.

A female victim identified by police as Lakshmi (last name withheld), 37, was found dead in a bathroom of her room on the third floor, according to police reports. She wore bloodstained clothes and suffered a severe gash on her right wrist. Her estimated time of death was five hours, Sri Racha police stated. They also found a long trail of blood leading from the first floor to her room on the third floor. No trace of robbery or physical assault was discovered, according to police officers.
A friend of the victim Prasarn Pengchanloy, 53, revealed to the press that he was told by the building owner to come and check his friend out because the owner was concerned about the bloody trail. Prasarn said that he found a shattered bottle with a bloodstain while going up the stairs to her room. He then unlocked the door and was shocked to find his friend passed away in the bathroom. Prasarn also told the press his friend was not suicidal or depressed.

Sri Racha police initially assumed that the victim may have tripped over and got cut by a shattered bottle while heading to her room on the third floor and then passed away due to a severe bleeding while attempting to self treat the wound. However, her body was transferred to Laem Laem Hospital for a post mortem examination.
