Sri Racha, Chonburi —
A fire devoured the entire house of a husband and wife who both work construction in Sri Racha over the past weekend. Sri Racha Police officers assumed a short circuit caused the fire.
Sri Racha police were notified of the fire on Sunday, June 5th, at a house in the Surasak subdistrict, Sri Racha, Chonburi, and rushed to the spot with five fire trucks from the Chao Phraya Surasak Montri Municipality.
According to reports, the fire had already spread across the entire house before the fire team arrived. The fire took 30 minutes to extinguish, but it totally destroyed all of the interior furniture. Luckily, no one was hurt.
An unidentified monk who witnessed the fire told TPN reporters that he heard a blast in the house’s direction while he was painting a temple nearby and called the police.
The 36-year-old house owner Onuma Phansamdang told The Pattaya News that she and her husband were working on a construction site during the time of the blaze. Onuma also believed she left some appliances on by accident before going to work Sunday morning.
According to Sri Racha police, they assumed that a short circuit caused the fire though they would search for more witnesses to validate the cause.
Ms. Onuma did not state if the home had any insurance coverage but did add that the couple did not make much money as construction workers and that the loss of their home was devastating. She and her husband were planning to stay with relatives during the current period.
