Walking Street, Pattaya —
The Pattaya mayor-elect Poramase Ngampiches personally inspected Walking Street to address roadworks and wire management to prepare for a predicted incoming influx of tourists.
Today, May 26th, Poramase Ngampiches or commonly known as “Beer”, Pattaya mayor-elect, visited Walking Street to follow up on the progress of an underground wire project and the resurfacing of the pavement. TPN notes “Beer” has not yet officially been certified as mayor by the election commission and that formal process may take 30-90 days.

Poramase said that Walking Street was one of the most prominent tourist attractions in Pattaya. The city has enforced a street closure for vehicle traffic overnight to facilitate tourists as well as the business venues alongside the street. He stated that the underground wire project had made significant progress and that it was expected to be completed in one month, while the electric poles would also be relocated underground at the start of 2023, after high season.

Regarding the resurfacing of the pavement, Poramase said that the city expected a full completion in June/July to support tourists in the next high season in Quarter 4. He also affirmed a regular follow-up on the projects once he is officially appointed as the mayor. Poramase also stated that the city remains fully committed to Walking Street as a premier tourist attraction for Pattaya.
