Chonburi announces 446 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and two new deaths

Highlights:

  • 446 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 3,234 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
  • 786 (PCR) and 2,866(ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
  • Two new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 446 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with two new deaths, on April 26th, 2022.

This makes a total of 102,663 cases (PCR) and 283,537 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 5,988 (PCR) and 37,719 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 249 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 786 (PCR) and 2,866 (ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 96,426 (PCR) and 245,818 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Two people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or with pneumonia. One of them was not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic.
The two new deaths were aged 53 and 78 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. Both of them were vaccinated.
In total, 2,064,109 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 88.62 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 308,604 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 83.42 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
992,257 people have received their triple dose which is 42.60 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 179,699 are 608 groups which are 48.31 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
The district-level new cases were as follows today:
Mueang Chonburi 93, Sri Racha 135, Banglamung (Pattaya) 88, Panat Nikhom 6, Sattahip 39, Ban Bueng 14, Phan Thong 20, ฺBor Thong 4, Ko Chan 4, Nong Yai 4, Ko Si Chang 2, and 37 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.
