Thailand reported a total of 19,982 daily Covid-19 infections with 101 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, April 12th.
The fatalities were 47 men, and 54 women with the highest rate in Bangkok with 11. 101 of them were Thai nationals and one was an English national. The age range was between 3 months and 100 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (6), kidney disease (15), obesity (6), stroke (15), and heart disease (10). 20 of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 19,591 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 312 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 27 were from prisons, and the remaining 52 were imported cases.
A number of 237,399 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 2,056 patients are in critical condition including 885 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.86 percent of cases that are critical while 43.04 percent of that are critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,339, followed by Nonthaburi with 884, Chonburi with 791, Nakhon Pathom with 736, Samut Prakan with 724, and Samut Sakhon with 544.
A total number of 44,671 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 8,373 people had received their first shots, 11,171 people had received their second shots, and 25,127 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 80.4% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 72.8% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 35.6% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 28,057 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 3,925,854 cases with 3,662,166 recoveries and a total of 26,289 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
