Chonburi announces 1,036 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and five new deaths

Highlights:

  • 1,036 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 4,037 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
  • 1,387(PCR) and 8,337 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
  • Five new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,036 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with five new deaths, on April 11th, 2022.

This makes a total of 91,386 cases (PCR) and 166,740 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 12,266 (PCR) and 58,586 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 183 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 1,387 (PCR) and 8,337 (ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 78,936 (PCR) and 166,740 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Four people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or with pneumonia. Two of them were not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic at 99.735 percent.
The five new deaths were aged 61, 87, 88, 89, and 99 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. Two of them were not vaccinated.
In total, 2,056,376 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 88.29 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 308,082 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 83.28 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
971,467 people have received their triple dose which is 41.71 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 173,795 are 608 groups which are 46.98 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
The district-level new cases were as follows today:
Mueang Chonburi 147, Si Racha 279, Banglamung (Pattaya) 311, Panat Nikhom 7, Sattahip 89, Ban Bueng 49, Phan Thong 39, ฺBor Thong 6, Ko Chan 7, Nong Yai 17, Ko Sichang 1 and 84 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 75 cases
  2. Cluster, RMS Quality company in Si Racha, 6 cases
  3. Cluster, Essilor Optical Laboratory in Phan Thong, 6 cases
  4. Risky occupations meeting many people, 38 cases
  5. 17 medical personnel
  6. 7 back from Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chainat, Chaiyaphum,Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Ang Thong
  7. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 291 cases, in workplaces –77 cases, 30 close personal contacts, and 6 joined parties.
  8. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 27 cases
  9. 456 cases of close contacts with a confirmed patient (under investigation)
