Three alleged drug smugglers arrested with six million amphetamines in Pathum Thani

Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani –

The Narcotics Suppression Bureau force arrested three alleged drug smugglers in Pathum Thani with six million amphetamines yesterday evening.

On April 4th, Police Lieutenant Colonel Roy Ingkapairote and many officers in an anti-drug force arrested three alleged drug smugglers including Somboon Saelor, 29, Poom Saeyang, 29, and Chokanan Prommee, 27. The suspects were driving a Honda Jazz, a D-Max pickup truck, and a Toyota Revo that separately carried 30 bags of 6 million amphetamines. The suspects were reportedly transporting drugs from the north of Thailand and got arrested near a Thai market, Khlong Nueng sub-district, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani. The arresting officers told TPN that this operation was aided by a “big data” system which they were trying to develop to keep organized records of all drug-related criminals. In fact, this arrest was consequential to the arrest of another drug smuggler in Ayutthaya who similarly attempted to transport his cargo from the north to the central part of Thailand. Initially, all suspects reportedly confessed to officers and awaited further legal action. Moreover, they will be recorded in a database, which could lead to a future arrest.
