Thailand reports 26,840 daily Covid-19 infections with 97 additional deaths

Thailand reported 26,777 domestic cases of Covid-19 with 23 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 40 imported cases, marking a total of daily infections, with 97 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 1,488,160 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 1,258,560 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 23,412 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows the total cases and recoveries since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Among 26,777 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in ฺBangkok with 3,095, Chonburi with 1,300, Nakhon Si Thammarat with 965, Samut Prakan with 922 and Samut Sakorn with 893.

The fatalities were 56 men and 41 women (95 Thais, 1 Myanmar, and 1 Chinese). 85  percent of them had prior health issues or were elderly.

Thirteen of them reportedly had previous chronic health problems. Eighty-two of them were aged more than 60.

Thailand has a total of 124,649,712 vaccines given, with 87,203 first jabs, 28,665-second doses, and 137,820 third doses given yesterday.
